❀️ Can your pup catch heartworm disease from playdates with furry friends? Let's talk paw-some facts! πŸΆπŸ”„πŸš« Myth Buster: No, playing with other dogs doesn't directly transmit heartworm disease! πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈπŸ› Heartworms are primarily spread through the bites of infected mosquitoes.🦟 How it Spreads: An infected mosquito bites an affected dog, transmitting heartworm larvae. These larvae then mature into adult worms, causing heartworm disease. It's not a direct dog-to-dog transmission.πŸ€” But Stay Alert! While playdates don't pose a heartworm risk, outdoor activities increase exposure to mosquitoes. What our clients are saying

We have entrusted the care of our beautiful little Yorkie girl, Freya to this Veterinary clinic and have found all staff to be very knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. I feel like they truly care about my pet's health. An added bonus is the gap pay facility availablity as well with my Insurer. I would definitely recommend their practice to other pet owners.

We brought our elderly cat to them for the first time and were blown away by the care and time they spent. Following appointments were the same, not at all rushed and they took the time to really explain what was going on and all treatment plans. We were so relieved that we found someone that cared about our boy as much as we do!

The most caring and kind vets and vet nurses!! I've had to change vet surgeries twice before finding this brilliant surgery. Thank you to all the staff for always taking great care of our puppy Ziggy.

My little dog, Rafiki, recently went in for a teeth clean and a blood screen. She ended up having six teeth extracted too. All the staff at Nundah Vets were absolutely fantastic, and after picking up my doggo in the afternoon, I left feeling very confident that she had been treated with the absolute highest level of care. Thank you to everyone at the clinic for your wonderful service. (And Rafi received a lovely bandana and a 'cutest patient' award.)

I have never left a review for any business before but the service at Nundah Village Vets has been absolutely sensational. We have a frequent flyer pup who has always been taken care of incredibly well with compassion and genuine kindness. We are consistently amazed at how above and beyond the team goes for us and our little boy. They even sent him a Christmas treat in the mail! A big shoutout to Meg who always greets us with a smile and checks in on our pup. We recently had a surgery completed at another vet (emergency) and she even called us to just make sure he was okay. 100% recommend anyone to take their pets here πŸ™‚
